Two Weeks until "The Predator" premiers!
Super pumped for this film, I really really hope it lives up to all this hype! The Ultimate Predator looks so bad ass, I had to do a tribute painting for it.

Finally, it's finished! This I knew was going to be a giant undertaking but I'm so happy that I stuck with it. I learned a lot about painting rocks in this piece, believe me.
When thinking of this piece, I wanted to do something with Mermaids and Pirates. That's all that kept coming to my head. At first, I was thinking about these villainous Pirates storming a Mermaid's cove to plunder the treasure and steal the Mermaids for whatever sick reason they wanted them. But then I started thinking, if Mermaids were a real creature, they probably encounter Pirates regularly and maybe even prey upon them. I mean they really can't seduce a fish, but they can easily force a young lust Pirate boy to leap into the ocean to be with them- only to be devoured and torn apart by the pod. So that's where this piece headed. At first glance, it looks like these Pirates are killing these poor innocent Mermaids at their Cove that is currently in low-tide. However, looking around the entire canvas, you'll notice dead Pirates; some with missing limbs, some that are only limbs, and one that is just a fleshy skeleton. These are the meals of the Mermaid pod that resides in this Cove. They collect the artifacts their prey was holding onto at the time of their demise, and share the feast with one another. These Pirates aren't attacking for these treasures and trinkets of old. They're attacking for revenge. Revenge for their fallen mates. Sidenote: I watched all 5 of the Pirates of the Caribbean films multiple times while painting this. Particularly the first and second one; combined 11 times. I can’t believe I forgot to post these here! Prepare for some very old painting work! Back in 2014, I was inspired by the amazing creature artist RJ Palmer and his collection of Realistic Pokémon. Having seen them, I wanted to take a crack at making some real-looking pokermans myself. These are the ones that I created throughout the year. I’ve since abandoned this project, but maybe I’ll return someday to try and finish the original 151. Only time will tell! Alright, back to my thinking chambers for the next piece. I've been toying having something with Dinosaurs. Maybe a sequel to this piece? SLICEY DICEYHoly cow, did this take a while to finished! But it's finally done! This was a request from my Fiancé. She gave me very specific instructions on what she wanted in this piece, and I'd like to share them with you now: "I want me and as a princess, riding a Unicorn through a spooky forest, on a rainbow, with a tiny little leprichan angrily shaking his fist because the Unicorn just smashed his Mushroom House. Also, include a gargoyle somewhere, and a Cyclopes. The sky needs to be pink, and I need to be holding a nunchuck." Gotta love her imagination ;) BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARDPhew! Finally finished this thing! This was a request from my sister; whom stated she wanted herself as a victorious Gladiator within a Colosseum- and having slain a Bear and Lion beneath her feet. Love being able to put in all those little details. Those crowds of people nearly killed me. Anyways, onto the next one! Thinking about doing another animation again... "-She said Lay me down in golden dandelions. 'Cause I've been waiting for this moment all my life." Ever since I heard the song "Golden Dandelions" by Barns Courtney; this particular image has always come to my head. Like the chorus suggests; it's a young woman, laying down nude in Golden Dandelions, waiting for her first love to embrace her. I like the colors in this piece. It was fun to do something with Yellow. I don't particularly find it a flattering color amongst most of my works- so it was great do finally use it into contrast with some Greens. And I'll never say no to painting a lying nude. Alright; onto the next one!
I love when I'm able to combine different passions in Art (Digital Paintings and Animation) to create something that I'm truly proud of. And for 4/26/2018 (otherwise known as Alien Day), I did just that! Last year, I completely forgot about Alien Day and it put a thorn into my side for the entire rest of the year. I'm a super-fan of the Xenomorph; so missing a day dedicated entirely to that specific creature really put me into a sour mood. So to make up for my forgetfulness of the previous year; I gave it my all this year the only way I know how- by creating a short animated film about it! If you couldn't tell, The Xenomorph and the "Alien" franchise is a huge inspiration to a lot of my work; and is one of the reasons why I decided to even become an Artist. God Bless H.R. Giger- an idol of mine and one of the masters of artistic horror. And to the guys over at Stan Winston Studios and StudioADI for keeping this ferocious creature alive to this day. This ones for you boys. WATCH THE FILM BELOW!Finally finished my ArtPrompts random Prompt generator piece! This was a really fun project to do. Check out the site if you want to get your own Prompt: http://artprompts.org/ The prompt was: His crown was fashioned into elegant antlers atop his head. Running from a Clown. Small, arctic Griffin. The Tomb of a great dragon. Writhing Tentacles coming out of a bucket. So we have our Antler Crown thief, with his small arctic Griffin partner, stealing an ancient bucket that holds a mysterious tentacled creature from the tomb of the great water dragon. Little do they know, that when they removed the bucket from the alter, the guardian clown deity of the tomb would be awakened to get take back the invaluable creature. Time to get started on the next project! After all, Alien Day is approaching... 4/26/18“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” -John 11:25-26 A day late, but I had one busy Easter Weekend! ;) Happy Belated Easter everyone! Alternative title- Sci-Fi Cowboy riding Llama-Ostrich while looking at Whales in the sky. But that's a bit long, so Storm Makers it is. I'll be the first to admit, this one isn't my strongest piece. But, I had an idea and hate throwing them away; so I persevered through. In the end, I ended up loving the whales and Llama-Ostrich, but hating the background and the Cow Boy. Notes for next painting: more creative clothing for human subjects to wear. |
